SANTA SUSANA, Ventura County — Ventura County’s land-use information lists two parcels within the existing unincorporated Santa Susana community under its Residential High Density zoning designation.
The county explains that the RHD designation can accommodate qualifying multifamily housing at densities up to approximately 20–22 dwelling units per acre, subject to parcel-specific requirements and ministerial zoning clearance. The same county page identifies seven such parcels across unincorporated Ventura County, with four in El Rio/Del Norte and one in Piru.
The designation makes certain development types potentially eligible for streamlined review; it is not confirmation that developers have proposed, financed or begun building apartments on the two Santa Susana parcels. The county encourages use of its CountyView GIS map to identify exact properties.
What residents should know
Residents interested in housing, traffic or neighborhood services can use parcel numbers to check applications and adopted zoning rules. The Santa Susana unincorporated area should not be confused with similarly named neighborhoods inside Simi Valley or with a state park in Los Angeles County.
